These rules and regulations
will apply to all Cannonball Motor Speedway events. Cannonball Motor
Speedway officials shall have full authority over all racing events. At
the discretion of the officials in charge, any competitor may be
disqualified for rule violations, hazardous equipment or actions.
All vehicles are subject to
inspection by officials at any time. Approval of the participant's race
vehicle, or other equipment, by an official inspector shall mean only
that the vehicle is approved for participation in a competitive event,
and shall not be construed in any way to mean or imply that the vehicle
is guaranteed to be mechanically sound or safe. Be it further known
that neither Cannonball Motor Speedway nor its officials shall be held
liable for any mechanical failure or fitness; nor for any losses,
injuries or death resulting from the same.
Any un-sportsmanlike
conduct by a driver, owner, or pit crewmember shall be grounds for
disqualification and/or punitive action. DRIVERS
ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT AND ACTIONS OF THEIR CREWMEMBERS!
Absolutely no alcoholic
beverages will be consumed by the drivers or their pit crews prior to
or during an event. Use, distribution, or the sale of illegal drugs at
anytime can be cause for immediate and/or indefinite suspension.
Any driver under 18 years
of age must have a signed and notarized consent form signed by his or
her parent or legal guardian. Said document shall be in the possession
of the Cannonball Motor Speedway before any participation in any event.
All cars are subject to
inspection before competing in any event. The top five cars after the
feature may be required to stop in the designated inspection area. If
found in violation of the rules, you will forfeit all money and points
for that night. If found in violation a second time you will forfeit
all money and points for the season and barred for no less than two
weeks.
Hot Laps:
You must hot lap with your class. We will not have a special hot lap
just for you.
The Pits: All divisions pull pills for starting positions in the heat races
unless otherwise discussed at the drivers meeting. If you miss
the drivers meeting and any information covered, it is you're fault.
No speeding through the pits. You will be disqualified and all money
and points for the evening will be forfeit. When your race is
called you need to get to the line-up area asap. We will not wait
for any car for any reason. DO NOT HOLD UP THE SHOW! It is
your job to know when to line up. Don't expect someone to come to
your pit to tell you.
Un-sportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
Drivers are responsible for their crews and their fans.
Lineups:
If a competitor scratches, an attempt will be made (time permitting) to
adjust the lineup in the pits. If a competitor is late for a
race, he will take the tail of that race. Lineups will advance
straight ahead in event of a scratch, not criss-cross. Next race
in line must be running and ready when signaled. No attempt will
be made to wait for a car that does not enter the track on command.
Driver Changes:
If you start the car, you finish the car.
If there is a driver change, that car will start at the tail.
If you switch cars or if a driver changes, you tag the end of the
field; and you only get the points you get in your original car when
you were in it (e.g. You start in a #0 car. You take over somebody
else's #1 car. You get the points for the time you were in your #0 car.
The original driver of the #1 car gets the points for when he was in
that car. No points are awarded for the time when drivers are not in
their original starting cars for the evening. You will, however, get
the money for wherever you finish.)
YOU MUST TELL THE PIT TOWER OF THE DRIVER CHANGE! Anything else is an ILLEGAL driver change and results in
disqualification.
Starts:
All starts (double and single file) are in turn four off the flagman.
First jumpstart to the tail.
Second jumpstart to the pits and disqualified for that event.
Two attempts will be made for initial start. Third attempt will be
single file.
Cautions: Judgment calls by the flagmen and infield crew. Calls stand and may
not be challenged or discussed on track or in the pits by a competitor
or zealous crew member. Doing this will lead to disqualification and
forfeiture of money and points for the entire night. When charged
with a caution, you must go to the tail or to the pits if its your
2nd. If you hold up the show by not obeying immediately, you will
be disqualified. Disqualification in any event results is no
money and no points for the night.
During Starts... If a caution occurs before the first
lap is completed,
then we start with the original lineup.
If the same competitor brings out a second caution before the first
lap is completed, then that competitor will take the tail. (Cars
will move straight up. They will not be crisscrossed.)
If the same competitor brings out a third caution before the first
lap is completed, then that competitor goes to the pits and is
disqualified for the event.
During the Race... First caution to the tail. Second
caution to the pits. If a competitor spins to the infield on their
own and is clear of the racing surface the race will continue.
If a competitor has a flat or body parts loose and deemed unsafe, that
competitor will be black-flagged regardless of where he is running.
No pitting during the race. If you go to the pits during a race, you
stay in the pits.
Drivers may not exit the vehicle during a caution or red flag.
You will be disqualified and sent to the pits.
No crew member, owner, or fan is permitted on the racing surface
while the event is in progress. Crews may go down to have their picture
taken if your driver is the winner.
During red flag conditions, STAY OFF THE TRACK.
You get in the way of the safety crews.
Scales: Top three (3) after heats must cross the scales after the race.
Top five (5) after feature must cross the scales after the race.
Payout:
Any driver who competes in more than one divisionthe same night
must purchase a pit pass per division or forfeit all winnings for that
night. Money will be picked up at the pit tower and must be
signed for in order to receive. Checks will be made out according
to the names registered on the registration forms.

All drivers in all divisions must complete a track registration form in
order to receive points or money. All common sense rules apply.
