Snell 85 standards.Helmet
must accompany vehicle at all times of inspection.Helmet must not be cracked or chipped.
*No radios or any communication
devices will be permitted.
*Fire suits of flame-retardant nature
must be worn by all competitors. Two piece suits are allowed.Fire resistant gloves and shoes are recommended.
*Fire extinguishers are required;
must be charged, with a gauge, and properly mounted (not taped) within
driver’s reach.Onboard
fire suppression system is highly recommended.
*Racing seat is required. Competition
type seat belts are required.No
factory type seat belts may be used.
*Racing fuel cells are required and
must be mounted by at least two (2) steel straps, two (2) inches wide
by one-eighth (1/8) in thick around the cell.Fuel cells must be enclosed in steel container, mounted behind
rear axle only, and must also be protected in rear axle of roll cage
tubing mounted securely.No
part of fuel cell should be lower than protective tubing.Protective tubing should be no wider than six (6) inches on both
sides of fuel cell.Bladders
are highly recommended. Must be equipped with tip-over valve.
*A kill switch is required.Switch must be located within easy reach of the driver and must
be able to be reached when standing outside of the car.Switch must be clearly marked ON/OFF.Batteries must be securely mounted and shielded.Batteries cannot be mounted inside the driver’s compartment.Loose objects and/or weights must not be used in driver’s
compartment or outside the body or hood area.
BODIES
*Any American made steel production
body.Fabricated aluminum
bodies will be permitted.
*Aftermarket nose piece allowed.
*8” Spoiler permitted
*Cars should be neatly painted with
18” high numbers on side and 24” high on roof, and allnumbers are to be at least 3” thick.
FRAMES
AND ROLL CAGES
*Late Model Chassis permitted.
*Street Stock chassis permitted.
*2x2 tubing or round tubing minimum
for frame construction.
*Minimum4 point roll cage 1 ½O.D.
minimum with 3-Door bar driver side and2 door barpassenger
side.
*101” Wheel base minimum.
*All cars will be equipped with front
and rear tow hook.These
shall be strong enough to support the weight of the car, so the car can
be easily accessible by track personnel and wrecker crews.THIS WILL BE ENFORCED.
*Weight rule is 2,600 lbs. Minimum
weight.Cars with Aluminum
heads must add 50 lbs to the car forward of the engine plate.
*All cars must be neat in appearance,
and be neatly lettered. Badly wrecked cars must be straightened.
ENGINE
*Any American production made 4 or 6
or 8 cylinder engine allowed.
*No aluminum blocks.
*Aluminum intake permitted.
*Headers allowed.
*No electric fuel pumps allowed.
*Engine setback can be no more than
6” from center of top ball joint to #1 plug on left side.
*No Dry Sump Engines.
CARBURETORS
*Limited Late chassis cars will only
be perrmitted to use a 4412 Holley 2bbl stock carburetor. Carb
must remain completely in out of box condition. Cannonball Speedway has
the option to swap carbs of any limited late at any time. Any
competitor refusing to trade their carburetor for the track carburetor
forfeits all winnings for that night.
*Stock front sub cars with no
quick-change or bird cage style suspension can use any 2bbl or 4bbl
carburetor. Cannonball Speedway officials will determine if the
car is considered a Street Stock or a Limited Late.
*Gasoline Only.NO ALCOHOL OR NITROUS.
WHEELS
AND TIRES
*Steel wheels only.10” maximum width.Beadlocks
will be permitted.
*Only Hoosier 15-8" HARD,
American Racer 15-8" HARD, or Goodyear 15-8" HARD tires will
be permitted on the REAR only. Any compound/manufacturer
15-8" tire permitted on front.
STEERING
AND SUSPENSION
*Weight jacks allowed.
*Coil overs permitted front &
rear of limited lates only. One per wheel.
*Racing shocks allowed, mounted in
any location.
*Lift bar allowed.
*Coil over eliminator allowed.
*Weights must be painted white and
car number must be on it, they must also be bolted or clamped on.
TRANSMISSIONS
*Bert transmissions allowed
*Must have working clutch w/ 1
forward and reverse gears.
*No direct drive.No in-out box.
DRIVE
SHAFT
*Drive shaft must be steel.
*Drive shaft must be painted white.
*Drive shaft loop required and must
be constructed of at least ¼” by 2” steel and should be mounted no
more than 6” back from front of drive shaft.
BRAKES
*Must have 4 wheel brakes.
*Drum or disc brakes allowed.
REAR-ENDS
*Floaters are allowed.
*Wide five hubs permitted.
*Quick changes permitted in limited
lates only.
These rules have been developed in an
effort to create an equal division. This class may have
alterations to the rules stated if necessary to make it work. The
purse paid will be based on a car count basis. This division
could become a solid street stock or solid limited late class if there
are 20 or more cars of either.
CONDUCT
Failure
to furnish a social security number, or providing a false social
security number, will result in a $500.00 fine to the participant, and
possible legal action by the IRS.
Any driver, owner,
pit crew, or anyone associated with a car that enters the scoring tower
or flag stand will be fined $100.00 plus a two (2) week suspension and
forfeit all winnings for that night.
Any physical
contact with any track official at Cannonball Motor Speedway may result
in permanent suspension at the track.
Any physical
contact with other drivers, pit crew, or spectators at Cannonball Motor
Speedway may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the
track.
Drivers must
be at least 16 years old to compete in the Late Model, Limited Late, or
Modified divisions.
Drivers must
be at least 14 years old to compete in the Pure Stock and 4cylinder
division.
Any driver
under the age of 18 years old in any division must fill out a release
form provided by the speedway before any driving is permitted.
DISCLAIMER
These
rules and regulations will apply to all Cannonball Motor Speedway
events.Cannonball Motor
Speedway officials shall have full authority over all racing events.At the discretion of the officials in charge, any competitor may
be disqualified for rule violations, hazardous equipment or actions.
